Weekends Best Spent: Miravana Wellness Resort and Spa

Once in a while me and Nins like to get out of house and do staycation from nearby hotels and resorts. One of our favorite place we went to was Miravana Wellness Spa and Resort in Silang, Cavite. I acquired our voucher for the resort thru Deal Grocer. Based on their website the place is located in Cavite and few minutes away from places of interests. The way is the same route going to Tagaytay.

The voucher was meant to be a birthday treat for Nins last January 2014. We even brought our baby for an overnight stay. We arrived in the place at around 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon after attending the Christening of our friend’s baby. Upon checking in, we were ushered in our assigned room. The reception chose a room that won’t disturb our adjacent rooms in case our baby did his regular cries in the middle of the night (thankfully, he had a good night sleep in the resort). The room and bathroom is spacious. The room we availed is good for two to three person but I think four more people can fit inside the room since there’s a big bed (king sized) and additional mattress on the floor. My hubby and baby enjoyed playing and running in the spacious room. The bathroom has a big tub with hot and cold water and beautiful sink. There is also an overlooking veranda wherein you can enjoy sitting at night enjoying coffee or hot coco and / or read a good book. Another bonus is the cold weather in Cavite was also enjoyable especially later in the night or during early morning dawn with fog. In addition, the place is a perfect location to do meditation or retreat. šŸ™‚

After we settled our stuff in the room we went out to dine out and celebrate Nins birthday in Gerry’s Grill in Nuvali with our good friends. There is a restaurant in the resort but Nins and I opt out to dine out and meet our friends in Nuvali (who is also waiting for us). After the our catch ups and overflowing conversations, we call it a night and headed back to resort. I want to explore the rest of resort but since it was already late in the evening and Nins are already tired due to driving and looking after our baby. We decided to stay in our room and do the exploring early in the morning. Hubby and baby were contented watching movies while lying in bed, while I was busy reading magazine near the veranda. I opened the door and left the screen door closed. The cold weather was relaxing and I was enjoying reading while sitting on their huge chair. I didn’t noticed that my hubby and baby were already asleep. After a few hours, I scoot in between the sheets with Nins and our baby.

Nins woke up in early dawn and told me that he enjoyed sitting outside the veranda. He even took photos early in the morning, while I on the other hand enjoyed sleeping in cold weather with comforter and hugging my baby. At around 7 in the morning, we went to take our free breakfast (which is also included in our voucher) in the resort’s restaurant. Early in the morning we were able to see the landscape, the resort’s amenities and visit the restaurant. And since were able to explore the resort, I list down the activities and amenities the resort can offer and our overall experience.

Room – The room is spacious and perfect for family bonding. The veranda provides its purpose for relaxation and chill time with your loved ones and friends. There is a television and mini-bar with small refrigerator which you can put your small groceries or food and the counter provides free coffee and tea. There is a also a closet for you to put your bags away and enjoy the spacious room. There are also extra bed and desk available in the room.

Bathroom – Since water in Cavite is numbing cold during “Ber” months and early January, my baby did enjoy playing and bathing in our room’s bathtub. My hubby and my baby was able to fit in the tub. I even tried it myself and let myself soak in the warm waters of the tub. It also has a water massager which I think is a value-add to the guests. I even nap while soaking myself and have my “me” time. The sink and toilet is big which two people can fit while brushing and/or washing.

Pools – There are two pools in the resort. One indoor pool and the other is located outside. We were not able to use the pool because our visit was early January. The water is cold and a few minutes stay at the pool can give you chills. The pool area was clean but no one was brave enough to swim on cold January morning. Most of the guests were staying inside their rooms and enjoying the cold weather.

Gym – Hubby enjoyed the gym trying the resort’s equipment. Luckily we were the only ones using the gym in early morning. My baby was able to enjoy the gym by playing inside and throwing gym balls across the room. šŸ™‚

Parking – the resort has an ample parking and during peak season, parking may be filled out with cars. The good thing with the resort is that there is a guard who assist the guests in looking for a parking spot in the resort. The guard is also nearby to check on the cars outside.

Restaurant – Above all the amenities in the resort, this one we really have a comment. The food served in free breakfast was small. The breakfast consist of 1 slice of bread, egg and jam with a choice of coffee or tea. Hubby and I have to order additional food to satiate our hunger. We ordered additional corned beef and eggplus sandwich. Another thing is the restaurant’s foods are quite expensive but nothing special. I was already tempted to ask hubby to drive us to a nearby AUP canteen which serves an affordable delicious goto and soya milk. šŸ˜›

Sauna – the resort also provides free sauna for guests for a certain period of time. Since we brought our baby with us, we were not able to avail the service since babies are not allowed in sauna.

Overall experience with the resort, the location is tucked away in rolling hills of Silang, Cavite and you might get lost because the resort is located in a private subdivision. Commercial areas are near but you have to get out of the resort and use your car to visit nearby places of interest such as Nuvali, Paseo de Sta. Rosa and Tagaytay. In addition, it is highly advised to bring your own transportation going to the resort. I discourage guests who will commute going there especially for first time visitors. The resort is quite far from the subdivision entrance and there are few tricycles available to bring you to the resort.

If you are looking for a quiet place and not too crowded resort, the resort is perfect for your family. It is perfect for quiet times, meditation and spend quality time with your family. We enjoyed our stay and the amenities of the resort (despite not being able to use the pool and sauna) the mere fact that my baby had a good night stay and enjoyed the spacious area of the resort, I had to say we will come back. Just ensure that if you are not going out in the night, bring small snacks, water and additional toiletries since the nearest store is few kilometers away. We will definitely go back but I am hoping that the restaurant will improve as well. šŸ™‚
